About
I’m the parent of a six-year-old who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age two. I’m also a teacher. Our family runs an Ypsomed pump, a Dexcom CGM, CamAPS FX, Nightscout, Sugarpixel, and a growing pile of small AI tools — so when I write about this stuff, I’m writing from inside it, not from the outside looking in.
t1dparents.tech is a passion project. No ads, no affiliates, no sponsorships, no paid tiers. If anything I write is useful to another parent, that’s the whole point.
What you’ll find here:
- Toolbelt — how-to guides for the tech I use (and sometimes the tech I tried and dropped).
- Real Life — short journal entries from the messy middle.
- Parent’s Question — the questions parents keep asking in Reddit and FB groups, answered by actually looking at the science.
- Evidence Desk — original experiments and comparisons I run myself. Lower cadence, higher rigor.
What you won’t find:
- General emotional support, nutrition advice, or cure-chasing — there are better places for that.
- Adult T1D self-management — staying in the parent lane.
- Breathless news coverage of every new device press release.
Nothing here is medical advice. Your kid’s care team is the only one who can give you that.
Want to talk? There are comment threads on Reddit where I hang out; the newsletter replies come to my inbox; the site itself stays quiet by design.
